Love Is In The Air

Valentine's Day, or Saint Valentine's Day, is an annual holiday held on February 14 celebrating love. The holiday is named after one or more early Christian martyrs named Valentine and was established by Pope Gelasius I in 496 AD. It is traditionally a day on which lovers express their love for each other by presenting flowers, confectionery, and sending cards (known as "valentines"). The holiday first became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

What's Blooming!

March is going to be glorious. All the golden finches come through and the daffodils are just beginning to come up. My daphnes are getting ready to pop open with their glorious aroma! My white, pink and red camellias are blooming and glowing as the red wing blackbirds pass through and gorge on all the bird feed.
